Insurance Policy

Introduction
TOFREIGHT offers optional insurance coverage for shipments to protect against potential risks such as loss or damage during transit. This Insurance Policy explains the types of coverage available, the claims process, and limitations of our insurance services.


1. Insurance Coverage Options

We provide two types of insurance coverage for our clients:

  • Basic Coverage: Limited coverage based on the weight and dimensions of the shipment. This option offers minimal protection and is included in the base shipping fee.
  • Full Value Coverage: Comprehensive insurance based on the declared value of the shipment. This option provides enhanced protection and covers the total value of the goods in case of loss or damage. An additional fee applies for this coverage.

Please discuss with your TOFREIGHT representative to choose the best coverage for your shipment needs.

2. Insurance Exclusions

Our insurance does not cover:

  • Shipments containing prohibited or restricted items, including hazardous or illegal goods.
  • Losses due to natural wear and tear, improper packaging, or inherent vice (e.g., perishable goods).
  • Delays, indirect losses, or consequential damages not directly related to the shipment.
  • Force Majeure events, including natural disasters, war, strikes, or other uncontrollable events that impact delivery.

Note: TOFREIGHT reserves the right to refuse insurance coverage for certain high-risk or restricted items.

3. Claims Process

If you experience a loss or damage to your insured shipment, you may file a claim by following these steps:

  1. Report Immediately: Notify TOFREIGHT within 24 hours of receiving a damaged shipment or upon learning of a lost shipment.
  2. Documentation: Provide all required documentation, including photos of the damage (if applicable), shipment details, proof of value, and a completed claim form.
  3. Claim Processing: TOFREIGHT will review your claim and may conduct an investigation if necessary. Claims are typically processed within 14-30 business days from the date of submission.
  4. Settlement: If approved, TOFREIGHT will compensate you up to the insured value, as per the terms of your selected coverage.

Note: The claim submission timeframe and required documents are essential for a smooth claims process. Failure to provide requested information may delay or impact claim eligibility.

4. Limitations of Liability

TOFREIGHT’s liability is limited to the declared and insured value of the shipment under the selected coverage option. For uninsured shipments or items outside the scope of our insurance coverage, TOFREIGHT’s liability will be limited as per our Terms and Conditions or relevant shipping regulations.
